Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When do I need to re-take this course?
A: Your certificate for the EMR with CNDA will have an expiry date on it. The course is valid for 4 years. Your NALS certificate with CCHPBC is also valid for 2 years.
Q: Who has to take EMR ?
A: Anyone registered with the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta (CNDA) who wants to do any type of injection therapies or acupuncture. Those doing acupuncture and basic injections such as B12 injections must take the Basic Injection course. Those doing IVs and advanced injections (including neural therapy, ozone therapies, prolotherapy, prolozone) must take the IV & Advanced Injections course.
Q: Can I register Continuing Education credits for this course?
A: Yes. With CNDA you can register 1 hour = 1 CE under the corresponding restricted act. E.g., if we spend 1 hour on acupuncture, you can claim 1 CE under acupuncture.
Q: Is this course online?
A: Check with your college! The EMR course is done virtually (via zoom) however not currently ‘on demand’.
***CNDA allows the EMR to be taken online / virtually**.
**CCHPBC requires the NALS course to be taken in person**.
